The locals-only guide to Eindhoven by Bram
As you might have noticed Sjoerd and I both live nearby Eindhoven. I always thought I knew all the cozy places in Eindhoven. But when Bram showed me these places I discovered some new hidden gems in my own city. Maybe some of you think. ‘What is it about Eindhoven that is so likable?!’ Well… Eindhoven is kind of an underdog that isn’t discovered yet.
Also Eindhoven is the fifth-largest municipality of the Netherlands. But let me introduce you to Bram, born in a town nearby Eindhoven. He works as marketer by Lead Benefits and loves goofing around. Today Bram shares his top 5 places you should visit in Eindhoven.
Where do locals and people who travel often go in Eindhoven?
When you go for a lunch in Eindhoven a lot of people would say you should go to “De markt”. But would you like to go to something more special, more cozy and a more laid back place? You should definitely visit Plein 4. For a delicious lunch, a quick snack before you go the movies, a afternoon with your kids (there is a mini indoor playground available), to fancy some drinks or go there for a night out during the weekends. Because bram describes Plein 4 as the place to start your weekend!
Monday 11:00 – 01:00 | Teusday until Thursday 11:00 – 00:00 | Friday and Saturday 11:00 – 02:00 | Sunday 11:00 – 23:00
Fish & Chips
Want to escape the city centre of Eindhoven? You should visit Fish & Chips. You can find this place on Strijp-S. Strijp-S was often refered to as ‘the Forbidden City’ when Philips’ headquarters were still located in Eindhoven, due to its strict entry policy to protect technological developments and discoveries. After Philips abandoned the area, Strijp-S became more of a ghost town. But Strijp-S isn’t a ghost town anymore, lots of locals visit Strijp-S. Bram often visit Fish & Chips for a quick lunch. And you guys should try their kibbeling wrap. But you can also order fish & chips (duh!), sushi, borritos. Yum!
Tuesday until Saturday 12:00 – 21:00
Bram recently discovered Volta Galvani but this district opened in 2014. Volta Galvani is a colorful place in a city known for her high tech and minimalistic designs. This is why Bram likes this place so much. So grab your camera and say cheese when you visit this place.
A district in Woensel-West, Eindhoven
This park is located in Meerhoven is still under development and just outside the vibrant part of the Eindhoven. Park Meerland isn’t very known but that won’t say this place isn’t beautiful. So would love to escape the city centre? You should visit this place.
Park Meerland, Meerhoven

I this place is would ever citizen from Eindhoven would recommend. I’ve visited this place before and you can get the best ice creams ever here (I’m not lying!). I tought the Intelligentia ICE was only open during summer but Intelligentia ICE is also open during winter. During the summer they serve: Ice cream, sundaes, deluxe pastries, cakes and macarons. And during the winter they serve: Pastry, sweets, dinners, ice cream cake and Macarons. Not a ice cream lover? You can also enjoy a good cup of coffee or tea!
