3 unique views over Budapest
Budapest is a beautiful city with many beautiful old buildings, beer gardens (Kert in Hungarian), ruin pubs, cozy restaurants and lovely parks.
There are so many places you can discover. It’s nice to wander around the pretty streets, but it’s even better when you have a panoramic view over the city. So bring your camera with you but most of all don’t forget to enjoy. Today I share my three favourite unique views over Budapest.
Gellert Hill offers one of the best panoramic views of Budapest. A 235 m (771 ft) high hill overlooking the Danube in Budapest, Hungary. The Hill was named after Saint Gerard who was thrown to death from the hill..
We were standing on the Géllert hill at the right moment. During sunset. You see the city change slowly and all the lights come on. It is the climb worth every penny!
St. Stephen’s Basilica is stunning from the inside, but this church is known for her panoramic view from the rooftop. Once at the top, you feel completely free! Costs: 500 HUF – about €1,60 per person
The first citizens arrived to Castle Hill in the 13th century after the Mongolian invasion, seeking protection in the hills of Buda. The first royal castle was built around this time. Today, Castle Hill is recognized as a World Heritage Site, has many must-see attractions, Gothic arches, eighteenth-century Baroque houses and cobblestone streets. And you’ll have breathtaking views over Budapest.
