A night in Campsterdam
Adventurous Childs is always on the hunt for adventure and unique stays all over the world. From staying in treehouses to sleeping in a tent in the forest. We like it all. A while back we stayed in Campsterdam in an old Peugeot camper. Curious how our stay was? Just keep on reading!
Campsterdam a self-made city in Amsterdam
Campsterdam was founded by Maik and Floris, two kind and helpful hosts. They will tell you everything about Campsterdam and Amsterdam. And would love to share their places you could visit in Amsterdam.
Campsterdam is a cool interesting place for hippie, budget backpackers and laid back people. So don’t expect a five star hotel. There’s a big barn next to the courtyard where you can hang out, watch a movie, listen to music or have some diner. There’s a kitchen, toilet and 2 showers. And a fireplace to keep you warm. But there is also a big campfire outside where you can meet other interesting fellow travelers.

“You’ll get the best of two worlds, close to nature and just a few minutes
away from the city centre”
This unique old-timer Camper is nicely decorated and is fully equipped with a heater, little composite toilet, a big bed and a place to sit and relax. You can open the back window and enjoy the water view. The Camper is situated on a courtyard with also other Campers, Caravans and two Boats.
Campsterdam is situated in the northern part of Amsterdam which is one of the most up-coming areas. NDSM (a former shipyard) located on the banks of the River IJ has blossomed into an enormous cultural hot spot in recent years. There are festivals, performances, exhibitions and a wide range of other events.
Two bikes are free included. You can take the ferry to the vibrant city centre. Campsterdam is also 10 minutes away from Twiske. Twiske is a beautiful nature park with canals, bridges, a windmill and lakes where you can swim during summer.
